That’s why the EJ SPEED jig was created—to ensure a stable, high-speed slide without spinning, even when using an electric reel at high retrieval speeds (speed setting: Hi).
Techniques for targeting yellowtail and amberjack:
For yellowtail, use a medium to low retrieve speed (speed setting: around 10) and create significant line slack with large rod movements to increase the jig’s sliding width. When aiming for amberjack, a quick, jerking action is most effective. Select an appropriate speed within the high-speed range (speed setting: 20 to Hi) to maximize your chances of success.
