Capable of handling a variety of popular targets including barramundi, bream, flathead, Spanish mackerel, and tailor, the Instage series is developed to suit an extensive range of fishing styles. The lineup accommodates everything from light lures under 10g to larger baits exceeding 100g, giving anglers the flexibility to switch techniques and species with confidence.

At the core of each rod is Shimano’s SPIRAL X CORE blank construction, delivering exceptional strength while maintaining a lightweight, crisp feel for precise casting and lure control. The rods also feature a Carbon Monocoque grip, a hollow carbon structure that reduces weight while significantly improving sensitivity, allowing subtle bites and lure movement to be felt directly through the rod.

To further enhance performance, Shimano’s X Guide system is incorporated to minimise line trouble while promoting smooth line flow during casting. The result is a rod series that combines strength, sensitivity, and casting accuracy—perfect for anglers looking to explore the full potential of inshore fishing.

Features & Technology:

• SPIRAL X CORE - Spiral X Core is Shimano's newest and most advanced blank construction technology. By integrating Spiral X carbon tape construction with Toray Nanoalloy technology, Spiral X Core constructed blanks benefit from up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than rods built with Spiral X. Shimano is unique to the market by applying by high-strength carbon tape with this unique and patented Spiral X constructionL

• X GUIDE - The X guide was born from the viewpoint to bring out the potential of blanks to the full. Supporting the guide rings of the tip part is a one-piece structure frame molded with the latest material by 3D technology. Its beautiful shape combines strength with the calculated inclination angle and three-dimensional structure to suppress line entanglement. The tip guides are light and small. In the butt part we have the Aero Titanium X guide which  contributes to casting feeling and casting distance. X guide is Shimano's original high performance guide which fused lightness, trouble less, casting performance to higher dimensions.

• CARBON MONOCOQUE (Edge Type) - Carbon Monocoque grip is a carbon-molded grip that is lightweight with high sensitivity, transferring even the smallest vibration to an angler’s hand. The Carbon Monocoque Grip increases sensitivity by 30% compared to traditional rod handles and utilizes a hollow structure that eliminates unnecessary parts of the rear grip to improve weight reduction and vibration transmission.

• HI POWER - Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.

• C14+ - CI4 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. While improving lightness and rigidity, reel bodies, rotors and reel seats built with CI4+ are further reduced in size and weight.

• X GUIDE 3D titanium.(except B63H) - The guide frame is made of strong and lightweight titanium material, formed by SHIMANO's unique cold forging technology. Trouble-free performance with suppressed thread tangling reduces stress on PE line operation in strong winds and headwinds, and the compact design brings the line and blanks closer together to support the transmission of bites and natural bending. Equipped on 6 items in INSTAGE except B63H.

• TITANIUM FRAME/SiC ring

• PERFECTION SEAT XT - Slim and lightweight bump-less seat for sustained performance. For the spinning model, a lightweight and high-sensitivity reel seat called "Perfection Seat XT" is adopted to enhance its hold. The grip has no steps and tightens securely just by lightly gripping it, and the high vibration transmission rate unique to the carbon reinforced material CI4+ enables linear transmission of the underwater situation. Moreover, the slim and easy-to-grip shape reduces the angler's burden, allowing them to sustain their concentration and jig operation accuracy for a longer period of time.
