The latest generation of the Backbone Elite rod range has undergone a thorough redesign and reengineering, including adjustments to the rod taper actions, in order to fulfill the specific needs of the offshore game fishing angler.
There are eight rods in all : a 10kg rod with fixed full standard guides and top, and three 15kg options in a selection of fixed guides, fixed guides with roller tip or fully roller guides The same choices are available in 24kg, and finally there is a serious 37kg weapon with a roller tip. Built on a single-piece constructed rod blank, the Backbone Elite utilise Shimano’s latest TC4 material. The long foregrip EVA delivers a comfortable grip even with wet hands, and the guides, whether fixed or roller are from AFTCO. The Slick Butts are durable and makes it convenient to remove a loaded-up rod from the holder, while anodised aluminium reel seats and gimbals round out a very workmanlike package.
