Shimano’s new Game Type J series are the latest JDM jigging rods to hit Australian shores. With seven models, this impressive new series feature improved blank technology and offer five spin and two overhead’s ranging from PE2.5 to PE6 line ratings. Improving on the original 2015 series, the 2020 series features Hi-Power X and now Shimano’s patented Spiral X Core carbon construction to reduce weight and increase strength. Paired with Fuji K Stainless SiC frames, a mix of Ci4+ or Fuji reel seats and an EVA split butt configuration for comfort and lightness, the Game Type J range is purpose-built to be incredibly balanced. The 2-piece butt join construction has been engineered to maximise performance and deliver a parabolic bend to ensure comfort and performance for Anglers while exerting maximum force on fish.

TECHNOLOGIES
SPIRAL X CORE - A high quality carbon tape is glued into the rod core with a high-strength resin which results in increased strength in all directions. Compared to rods without Spiral Core X, the blank is 2.5 times stronger and the strength.
HI-POWER X - In Hi-Power X construction, the blank’s outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of “X” shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.
SHIMANO CI4+ REEL SEAT - In addition to using high-end Fuji reel seats, Shimano has designed a number of models in-house. These Shimano engineered models make it possible to use specialised reel seats for different types of rods. The usage of the highly technical material CI4+ creates an ultra light reel seat.
