The SALTIGA FROTHER 170F is a diving popper built for big-game fishing, engineered to create a dense stream of fine bubbles when worked just below the surface. This strong underwater presence helps draw predators in from a distance and triggers aggressive strikes. The carefully refined cup design — including wall thickness and depth — was repeatedly tuned during development to achieve the ideal bubble size and concentration for maximum attraction.
Beyond the bubble trail itself, the lure helps obscure its outline and silhouette, making it harder for cautious fish to focus on the lure. Select colour patterns also feature Daiwa’s 3D multi-reflective “LASERIMPACT” finish, producing realistic baitfish-style flashes that enhance visual appeal. The large cup design further generates sounds resembling natural predation activity, combining light and acoustic cues to reach fish even at longer ranges.
Versatile as both a search lure and a strike-triggering option, it performs well across many fishing situations. It can be worked at a steady, rhythmic tempo without diving too deeply, encouraging fish to pursue it over distance before committing to the bite. Excellent long-distance casting performance adds to its effectiveness when covering large water areas.
