New to the 23' Legalis spin reel range is Daiwa's AIRDRIVE design technology. This design was first featured in the 22 Exist and has now made it's way to the 2023 Legalis series. With its refreshed appearance, the 23 Legalis features an AIRDRIVE rotor and bail arm that effectively reduce the weight of each component. This reduction contributes significantly to minimizing start-up inertia, delivering the smooth rotation anglers desire.

Constructed with a ZAION V composite body, the reel remains impervious to harsh saltwater elements, providing a robust and durable frame to accommodate the Tough Digigear drive system. LEGALIS has consistently offered exceptional value within the Daiwa range, and now, with the addition of AIRDRIVE Design, it stands even stronger.

Features & Technology:

• AIRDRIVE DESIGN - Daiwa’s new Airdrive Design, a four pillar (Airdrive Rotor, Airdrive Bail, Airdrive Spool, and Airdrive Shaft) design concept that reduces weight, and enhances rotational smoothness and responsiveness to create a reel that is next level in both form and function.

• ABS-LONGCAST - Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.

• AIR-ROTOR - A further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, Tough Digigear is our brand new digitally designed, machine cut gearing system that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.

• AUTOMATIC TOURNAMENT DRAG - Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

• INFINITE ANTI-REVERSE - Daiwa's advanced system that limits rearward backplay handle movement to almost zero for solid hooksets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line.

• PIN THROUGH HANDLE - An inline, pin-through handle assembly makes handle removal and installation simple and quick, with the handle inserted through the reel then secured into place with a threaded screw cap.

• MAGSEALED BODY - Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.

• TOUGH DIGIGEAR - A further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, Tough Digigear is our brand new digitally designed, machine cut gearing system that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.

• TWIST BUSTER II - The new and improved line twist reduction system takes line taming to another level with its tapered line roller enhanced to eliminate line twist like never before. More advanced and more equipped at reducing twist in fluorocarbon and mono than its predecessor, Twistbuster II is the answer to your line twist nightmares.

• WIREBAIL - Featured on entry level reels Wire Bail is light, strong, ultra smooth and protrusion free, allowing line to slide effortless along the bail towards the line roller.

• ZAION BODY - A new generation of lightweight Daiwa’s resin and carbon material. The Zaion V material is both strong and incredibly lightweight.
