Cressi's Naxos mask is compact and smaller than traditional dive masks, yet its design does not compromise the field of vision. Thanks to innovative internal ribs, it adapts perfectly to any face shape. Similar to the Quantum mask, the Naxos provides enhanced downward vision and prevents fogging by thermoregulating the warm, moist air that escapes from the nose. This air is redirected by a system of membranes around the eyes and nose, which channels the airflow towards the rubber walls, keeping it away from the lenses.
The exterior of the mask features a cooling system with two small heat exchangers, functioning like radiators. This lowers the internal temperature, aligning it with the external environment, and traps moisture droplets before they reach the lenses, preventing fogging. The lenses themselves are not chemically treated, so when the mask is new, it is recommended to clean them thoroughly using toothpaste, dish soap, or a lighter to remove any volatile residues. Additionally, applying saliva before each dive serves as a natural surfactant to further prevent fogging.
