The name says it all. The crew at Black Magic teamed up with Tasmanian game fishing legend and Black Magic Pro Team angler Jonah Yick over nearly 18 months to bring this lure from concept to reality.
So, what is it?
A Kona-style game lure with a scoop face and reverse taper head, built to swim with a wildly unpredictable, erratic action. The result? A lure that consistently produces strikes and lands fish — time and time again.
The Jonah's Kona XT has been built to take the hits and be up for some serious action. The head is crafted from advanced XtraTuff material, built to withstand the punishment of aggressive strikes without cracking or chipping like traditional resin heads. Sure, it might pick up the occasional “battle scar” from a billfish — but we like to call those badges of honour.
Its distinct head shape creates a lively, exaggerated wiggle that mimics the frantic movement of fleeing baitfish. And thanks to its keel-weighted design, the lure dives, pops, and tracks with a natural side-to-side motion.
