The Yamashita EGI Oh Q Live Search 490 Glow Squid Jig is a premium Japanese-designed squid jig packed with innovative features to help anglers locate and entice squid more effectively. Combining advanced sound and visual technology, this high-performance EGI jig has been engineered using extensive research into squid behaviour, making it a standout choice for both recreational and serious squid anglers.
Yamashita's research team discovered that squid are highly responsive to sound frequencies around 600Hz and light wavelengths of 490nm. The Oh Q Live Search 490 Glow incorporates both technologies, featuring an integrated Search Rattle that emits an ideal 600Hz sound and a specialised 490 Glow body that maximises visibility to squid, even in low-light conditions.
The unique STROBE FIN mounted on the rear of the jig creates an enticing rolling action during each hop, producing flashes from the reflective side foils and flat-sided body. This combination of movement and light reflection attracts the attention of nearby squid while maintaining a stable, balanced posture on the sink. With a sink rate of approximately 3 seconds per meter and a weight of 20.5g, the Oh Q Live Search allows anglers to efficiently target deeper water and cover more of the strike zone.

Technology & Features:
- STROBE FIN - The STROBE FIN which is put on the back of the EGI helps it to roll (and flash) on the hop. This allows the side foils to flash and appeal to the eyes of surrounding squid. The EGI still has a perfectly balanced and stable posture when sinking.
- FLAT SIDES- The flat sides of body reflect the light strongly after the rolling action generated from the STROBE FIN.
- SEARCH RATTLE - The sound level with the rattles are around 600Hz and it's the ideal level for squid to pick it up.
