The Daiwa Saltiga Frother 200F is a serious diving popper built for big-game topwater fishing. Designed to create plenty of commotion without constantly digging too deep, it combines a strong surface presence with a dense trail of fine bubbles to call predators in from distance and trigger aggressive strikes.
A huge amount of development went into getting the cup shape, depth, and wall thickness just right. When worked, the Frother dives below the surface and produces a cloud of fine, tightly packed bubbles. Aside from creating plenty of attraction, this bubble trail helps break up the lure's silhouette, making it harder for wary predators to get a clear look before committing to the strike.
The large cup also pushes plenty of water and creates a sound designed to imitate the commotion of feeding fish. Selected colours take things another step further with Daiwa's LASERIMPACT technology, producing a strong, baitfish-like flash as the lure moves through the water. Together, the combination of bubbles, sound, flash, and movement makes the Frother an excellent search bait when you're trying to pull big fish up from deeper water.
Despite its 200mm profile, the Frother is designed to be worked at a good tempo with continuous action without diving excessively deep. This allows you to keep the lure moving and give following fish plenty of opportunity to track it down and commit.
