The Daiwa 2026 Saltist Hyper range receives its most significant update in years, delivering Australian saltwater anglers the most refined, capable, and versatile Saltist Hyper series to date.
Built around Daiwa’s philosophy of balancing performance and value, the new range incorporates advanced rod technologies that lift both feel and durability to a new level. At the heart of the series are HVF Nanoplus and X45 blank technologies, combining to create rods that are lightweight, responsive, and highly sensitive while still possessing the strength needed for demanding saltwater fishing applications.
Performance is further enhanced in the two-piece models through the inclusion of Daiwa’s V-Joint technology, which uses a specialised bias wrap construction within the ferrule to eliminate flat spots and weak points. The result is a seamless action and strength profile that closely resembles a one-piece rod.
The updated range also introduces Complete Control Grips, designed specifically with angler comfort and control in mind. The ergonomically shaped foregrip includes a unique trigger design that naturally positions the finger for improved leverage and stability during tough fights.
With nearly 20 models available and a broad range of tapers suited to Australian fishing styles, the 2026 Saltist Hyper lineup is built to cover everything from casting stickbaits at tuna and reef species over shallow coral flats, to throwing hardbodies around river breakwalls in search of mulloway.
Versatile, durable, and purpose-built for Australian conditions, the 26 Saltist Hyper series is ready for almost any saltwater challenge.

Technology & Features:
- X45 - Developed to eliminate blank twist and increase power, X45 features a Bias Wrap Construction, left/right 45 degree carbon weave within the blank. X45 radically improves rod strength and durability by eliminating twist and preventing the blank from losing its round form. The elimination of this twist allows for a lighter, stronger and more powerful and sensitive rod.
- HVF NANOPLUS - Through the use of nano resin control technology in the blank construction process, Nanoplus allows for increased graphite density to be achieved within a graphite rod blank.
- V-JOINT - Bias construction within the ferrule allows it to flex with the rod, eliminating the weak, unbending spot caused by ordinary ferrules. The result of this revolutionary technology is a multi-piece blank that matches the performance of one-piece blanks in flex, power and responsiveness.
- COMPLETE CONTROL GRIP - Complete Control grip changes the design of both the butt & foregrip. The butt is designed at a unique angle, this angle has been optimized at the perfect angle to maximise surface area contact to your body when hooked up. The foregrip features a uniquely shaped trigger imprint to the leading edge, this naturally finds your finger resting perfectly on this trigger when locked into a fight under heavy drag pressures. These small changes in grip design give a real world benefit to the angler in fishing conditions.
