Description
Steez has a long history as a part of Daiwa. Debuting Ultimate Casting Design, bringing the perfect cast into reality. To realise the ultimate casting design which Daiwa has been pursuing for many years, it was necessary to align four key elements, and take each of those to the limit.
Just perfecting one part was not enough, it took all parts acting together to bring Ultimate Casting Design to life. The four pillars of Ultimate Casting Design are Daiwa’s famous Magforce + Variable Inductor, TWS T-Wing System, Zero Adjust & G1 Duralumin spool. When all four of these are harmonized, the imagination of perfect casting performance is realised.
Daiwa’s advancements of a completely non-contact electromagnetic braking system have been under development since the introduction of Magforce braking over 20 years ago. By creating a completely non-contact structure it eliminates all friction and therefore is not easily affected by outside factors such as moisture or humidity. The adaptation of a two-stage variable inductor which is controlled by the spool’s rotation means performance for lightweight lures, versatility or super long casting can be achieved.
Daiwa’s Zero Adjuster has been present for many years. By mastering the main brake (Magforce) Daiwa bait reels now do not need the second stage mechanical brake which applies force to the spool shaft. Now the angler can respond to any setting simply by adjusting the mag dial. Ultimate Casting Design has eliminated this ability, which simplifies setup & use and eliminates possibility for accidental adjustment.
A third generation TWS has been installed, which has seen the shape be adjusted to further increase line flow. As bait reels become more compact and spool diameters decrease the rotational speed of the spool increases, further enhancing the performance benefits of TWS. A 4.9% casting distance increase is achieved when performing test casts against second generation TWS.
A new G1 Duralumin spool is regarded as the highest-grade aluminium alloy materials, two times stronger than magnesium and 1.3 times as strong as Super Duralumin. This allows Daiwa to create spools which are thin & light, whilst retaining strength and durability to handle many different line types and size.
Features & Technology:
MAGNESIUM BODY - Reels featuring a magnesium body are significantly lighter than conventional alloy bodied reels. Daiwa’s magnesium, Air Metal, technology processes the magnesium in a unique way that results in full corrosion resistance.
MAGSEALED BEARINGS - MagSeal protection is no longer just for the main shaft and rotor of a reel with MagSealed Ball Bearings providing ultimate protection for the most at risk location such as the engine side plate and line roller.
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN - HYPERDRIVE Design consists of four of the key pillars. Hyper Armed Housing, Hyper Tough Clutch, Hyper Double Support & HYPERDRIVE Digigear.
ULTIMATE CAST DESIGN - Ultimate Casting Design Daiwa features four key elements (Ultimate Casting Brake, Ultimate Casting Line Guide, Ultimate Casting Zero Adjust and Ultimate Casting Spool), each developed for ultimate performance.
G1 SPOOL - Lighter and faster than traditional spools a G1 duraluminium spool allows for faster spool start-up and slowdown, and improved rotational balance.
INFINITE ANTI REVERSE - Daiwa's advanced system that limits rearward backplay handle movement to almost zero for solid hooksets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line.
MAGFORCE Z - The next generation of Daiwa’s magnetic anti-backlash system like Magforce V before it combines the best aspects of modern magnetic and centrifugal breaking, albeit with some slight differences. Unlike Magforce V magnetic braking is only applied at maximum spool speed, as a result it allows the spool to reach a higher peak speed and allows it to spin for longer. Magforce Z is considered to be best suited to longer casting pursuits and heavier weights.
T-WING SYSTEM - Daiwa’s revolutionary T-Wing System addresses the issue of traditional line guide/level wind systems constricting line flow by delivering a T-shaped line guide that is larger, wider and less restrictive. TWS allows line to exit freely from the spool with minimal line angle, minimal friction and constriction, thereby reducing line noise and backlash, and delivering more accurate and longer casts.
ULTIMATE TOURNAMENT DRAG - A system that combines ultra smooth low inertia with ultimate fish stopping power. UTD combines advanced carbon washers, alloy and stainless steel drag plates with specially designed grease for ultra-smooth performance.
ZERO ADJUSTER - Thanks to the revolutionary SV-Concept, it is no longer necessary to adjust the Mechanical Spool Brake Knob when casting. Perfect Zero Adjuster setting is when the spool shaft is held without side to side spool play. Appropriate brake power adjustment is now fully manageable with only the use of the Magnetic dial.
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN - HYPERDRIVE Design consists of four of the key pillars. Hyper Armed Housing, Hyper Tough Clutch, Hyper Double Support & HYPERDRIVE Digigear.
85mm HANDLE - 85mm Baitcast Handle.
MADE IN JAPAN - Constructed in Japan.
