Daiwa Fuego LT Spinning Reel

The new Fuego LT series of spinning reels, state of the art fishing tools that define Daiwa’s commitment to the LT Concept of lighter, tougher material. With conventional, heavier spinning reels, long hours of casting and retrieving can fatigue the arms and hands. The Fuego LT housing is light but sturdy constructed from a Carbon based material. The innovative Magsealed main shaft delivers butter smooth performance while preventing water or dirt intrusion. The technology uses a Mag Oil that can be magnetically solidified similar to a packing on a boat’s propeller shaft. Oil smooth operation as well as a water and impurities barrier makes the design and function unparalleled. The Machined Aluminum handle is ergonomically correct and screws easily into the body. Six ball bearings and one roller bearing combine to create the ultimate in silky smooth operation. If you are looking for an amazing reel packed with high-end design and technology features then the Daiwa’s Fuego LT may be the reel for you.

Features:

  • Magsealed

Daiwa Fuego LT

It all starts with a tough and reliable gear system housed within a light-weight carbon based body. The key internals are protected from the elements with an innovative water-tight sealing system. The tough aluminium spool encases a powerful carbon drag system that can withstand the extreme pressure of braided line and angler demands. Furthermore, the light yet strong rotor and bail wire enhance the rigidity of this workhorse.

LT Concept

LT (Light Tough) technology is based four key elements, Lighter, Tougher, more drag, and more bearings. Featuring a new compact body design and Tough Digigear, LT reels introduce a new level of lightness and toughness to spin reel design.

Magseal

Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.

Tough Digigear

A further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, Tough Digigear is our brand new digitally designed, machine cut gearing system that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.’

Air Rotor

Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.

ATD

Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

Screw-in Handle

From Daiwa Australia – Simplicity and effortless at its finest, a screw-in handle features on our mid to high-end reels. Handle removal is as simple as back winding the handle, or forward winding for handle installation.

Models:

On the Fuego LT you will notice the letters C and/or D after each reel size.

D = Deep Spool – This is the largest spool capacity available for each individual reel size.

C = Compact – The body and gear size is smaller than a standard size reel, offering a weight reduction.

LT Concept
From Daiwa Australia – ‘LT (Light Tough) technology is based four key elements, Lighter, Tougher, more drag, and more bearings. Featuring a new compact body design and Tough Digigear, LT reels introduce a new level of lightness and toughness to spin reel design.’
LT is one of Daiwa’s latest innovations that takes light tackle spinning reel technology to a whole new level. If you’re in the market for a reel that brings two of the most desired spinning reel features together, Daiwa LT reels are the perfect fit. As is the Fuego LT which contains all of the LT spinning reel features.
Magseal
From Daiwa Australia – ‘Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.’
Magseal has been around for a while and continues to be used in almost all of Daiwa’s mid to high end reels. In our opinion, this is the feature that sets the Fuego LT apart from other reels at this price point. The Fuego LT is also the lowest-price Daiwa reel with Magseal. The inclusion of this high-end reel feature confirms the Fuego LT is not only high quality but excellent value for money.
Tough Digigear
From Daiwa Australia – ‘A further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, Tough Digigear is our brand new digitally designed, machine cut gearing system that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.’
A strong gear is important as it is the engine of your reel. The machine-cut Tough Digigear is proven and trusted in Daiwa reels as prestige as Exist LT! Say no more, this is a high quality feature.
Air Rotor
From Daiwa Australia – ‘Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.’
Air Rotor distributes pressure evenly when under load. This will A) cause less pressure on single parts of the rotor, and B) reduce flexing and improve strength. Air Rotor also boasts a 15% weight reduction over other rotors made from the same material.
ATD
From Daiwa Australia – ‘Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.’
Quite simply, ATD has the unique advantage of applying drag pressure smoothly and slowly. This reduces the amount of pressure applied to a fish’s mouth during strike and hook set. Although your rod plays a key role in secure hook sets, ATD will help reduce the amount of pulled hooks at the beginning of the fight and reduce the wear of the fish’s mouth from the initial take. Allowing you to land more fish and set more hooks.
Screw-in Handle
From Daiwa Australia – ‘Simplicity and effortless at its finest, a screw-in handle features on our mid to high-end reels. Handle removal is as simple as back winding the handle, or forward winding for handle installation.’
One of the most important features if you’re a serious angler yet it will instill good piece of mind if you’re not. Not only is it really simple to unscrew and pack away for travelling, screw-in handles are much stronger than pin-through handles. Put simply, the key advantage is screw-in handles have a direct connection to the gearing inside the reel. The Fuego LT also features a rubber gasket to prevent water from reaching the key internals from this angle.
